COVID-19 is still a major topic after more than 2 years. We will fill you in on everything you need to know about it's impact on security guards in Alberta.

In Alberta, mask mandates were lifted on June 14, 2022, however certain security companies may have their own mask requirements and policies for guards.
Recently, there has been some controversy in Ontario about facial hair and the use of masks by security guards due to cultural reasons. One of the strategies from the Government of Alberta to improve mask fit is "Keeping facial hair and beards shaved or short." Be aware that this might be required to work for certain security guard employers.
All mandatory public health restrictions including the vaccine mandate in Alberta were lifted on June 14, 2022. Just like mask mandates, employers have the choice of continuing to mandate that all of their employees be fully vaccinated.
